DiscipleNow is a weekend retreat in which we stay in and around Palestine in Dogwood Hills Baptist Church members' homes. We'll stay in our regular small groups: young men in grades 7-8, young ladies in grades 7-8, young men in grades 9-12, and young ladies in grades 9-12.

Here is a quick rundown of the weekend.

Friday, January 9, 2026
5:00 p.m.: Supper @ Dogwood Hills
6:00 p.m.: Worship @ Southside (multiple youth groups)
9:30 p.m.: Overnight @ DH homes (small group session 1)

Saturday, January 10, 2026
7:00 a.m.: Wake-up & Get Ready for the day
8:00 a.m.: Breakfast/Bible Study @ homes (small group session 2)
10:00 a.m.: Worship @ Southside
11:30 a.m.: Lunch @ Southside
12:30 p.m.: Breakout Session 1
1:20 p.m.: Breakout Session 2
2:00 p.m.: Free Time/Service Project
5:30 p.m.: Supper @ DH
7:15 p.m.: Worship @ Southside
9:30 p.m.: Overnight in DH homes (small group session 3)

Sunday, January 11, 2026
8:00 a.m.: Wake-up & Get Ready for the day
9:30 a.m.: Breakfast @ DH (small group session 4)
10:45 a.m.: Worship @ DH
12:15 p.m.: Go back to your own homes

for students (grades 7-12) to come
hang out, have fun, navigate the
Truth of God's word, and be
encouraged in their faith
walk with Jesus.

The night is typically broken up into 3 segments:

1. Games or Worship (25 min)

2. Bible Study (25 min)

3. Small Groups (25 Min)

Youth & More Louisiana Mission Trip

Summer 2025

We had a great week of serving The Gathering Place Kolin (church) in Pineville, Louisiana. We painted the worship center auditorium and the nursery, tore down a shed, cleaned up around the church, organized things, installed new paneling in the kitchen, replaced many electrical outlets and switches, upgraded some lighting, and took out some ceiling fans and lights.

We include this section because participants will be away from home and may need medical assistance. Providing appropriate information may help in an emergency situation and will help us keep participants on schedule for medicines or whatever. Please know that we are not being nosy, but we care about each participant and want them to be cared for appropriately.
